GANNON, Pa. - Junior Mark Murphy (Dillsburg, Pa./Northern York) recorded a fall in 2:32 at 184 to propel three consecutive wins for Shippensburg that brought the Red Raiders into the lead, allowing Shippensburg to snap a three-match losing streak with a 29-16 defeat over No. 20 Gannon University on Saturday morning at Carneval Athletic Pavilion.

The victory marked the first win in dual competition for Shippensburg since the East Coast Duals on January 21, when the Red Raiders defeated the University of North Carolina-Pembroke by a score of 41-9.

Murphy's fall marks his 13th win over the past 15 duals, including six consecutive wins by fall in non-tournament competition.

Following Murphy's fall, senior Corey Jacoby (Hanover, Pa./Delone Catholic) recorded a fall in 2:26 over Chris Moerke to improve his season record to 23-5 and clinched the victory for Shippensburg.

Red-shirt junior Jamie Thomas (Mechanicsburg, Pa/Cumberland Valley) once again got Shippensburg on the scoreboard first with a 17-3 major decision over Adam Green at 125 pounds. The win is the tenth-straight and 22nd of the season for Thomas.

A 14-11 decision at 165 for Shippensburg sophomore Eric Kauffman (Etters, Pa./Red Land) propelled Shippensburg back into the lead before Gannon's Jason Radtke recorded a fall over sophomore Rick Mascino (Philadelphia, Pa./North Catholic) in 2:32 to give Gannon a 16-11 lead before Murphy would record his fall.

Senior Alex Renn (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) recorded his second consecutive victory at 141 pounds with a 12-2 major decision Brian Yoder to give Shippensburg an early 8-3 lead. Renn improved to 11-4 on the season.

Red-shirt senior Jake Lininger (Camp Hill, Pa./Lower Dauphin) rounded out the day with a victory through a forfeit to earn his 24th victory in 27 chances this season.

The Red Raiders continue a road trip tomorrow at No. 19 West Liberty State College before ending the road trip at Kutztown University on February 15. Tomorrow's match against the Hilltoppers begins at noon.
