Antolik Named to ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Team by CoSIDA

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Shippensburg University women's volleyball sophomore Kali Antolik (Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop) was selected to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Third Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The award recognizes Antolik for her success both on the court and in the classroom.
Antolik was the only member of a PSAC institution on the third team and one of just three PSAC selections on either the first, second or third team in the District II College Division which is comprised of 26 athletes.
A marketing major, Antolik has sustained a 3.84 grade-point average while attending the John L. Grove College of Business, one of the premier business schools in the Mid-Atlantic Region tht was was established in 1971, and was internationally accredited in 1981 by the most prestigious business accrediting agency in the world, AACSB International.
Antolik completed the regular season as Shippensburg’s leader in kills with 409 while posting a .310 hitting percentage. She participated in 136 of the team’s 142 games and also led Shippensburg with 109 total blocks. She is the first player to earn academic all-district honors since Michelle Doughty ’05 was selected to the third team following her senior season.
CoSIDA selects Academic All-America® teams in 12 programs. A first team, second team and third team are selected in both the University (Division I and I-AA) and College (Division II, III and NAIA) Divisions.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
The Lady Raiders begin play in the 2007 PSAC Volleyball Championship on Friday wit a 7:30 p.m., match against the winner of the West Chester versus Clarion.
