Errors Plague Lady Raiders in Loss at East Stroudsburg

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - For the fifth-straight match, the Shippensburg volleyball team was handed a defeat and on Tuesday at East Stroudsburg, the Lady Raiders could not overcome its timely miscues and fell 30-25, 30-26, 30-25 to PSAC Eastern Division foe East Stroudsburg.

Shippensburg (9-6, 0-3 PSAC East) has not only dropped five straight, but have also fallen their first three PSAC East contests for the first time since 2002. Overall, it's the longest skid since the 2003 squad lost six straight from October 10 to October 19.

Shippensburg held early leads in the second and third games, but East Stroudsburg (10-1, 2-0 PSAC East) charged back in both and put on late runs to earn the close wins.

The Lady Raiders received 15 kills and nine digs from senior Missy Pierce (Valparaiso, Ind./West Aurora (Ill.)), brining her career total to 1,027 kills and 1,572 digs.

Freshman Colleen Toomey registered 14 kills and senior Erin Graf (Laurel, Md./Atholton) recorded five kills. Freshman Missy Ramp (York/Central York) recorded 36 assists and nine digs.

The Lady Raiders will look to bounce back this weekend with three crossover matches at Indiana (Pa.). Shippensburg's first match is at 5:00 p.m., on Friday against Slippery Rock.
