Lady Raider Volleyball Sweeps Daemen to Open 2007 Season at Roberts Wesleyan

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Behind a career-high
17 kills, two service aces and two blocks from sophomore Kali Antolik
(Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop),
the Shippensburg University volleyball team opened the 2007 season with 30-20,
30-23 and 30-27 victory over Daemen College Friday night at the Roberts Wesleyan
Tournament.
In their second match of the evening, the Lady Raiders (1-1) fell to Westmont
College from Santa Barbara, California, 30-25, 30-23 and 31-29.
Against Daemen, freshman Keri Toms added five kills in her collegiate debut
while sophomores Kelsi Hoffman (York/West York) and Maureen
DuVall (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) totaled 15 digs and 22 assists, respectively.
Antolik added five more kills in the loss to Westmont while sophomore Colleen
Toomey (Reading/Muhlenberg) totaled 15 kills and six digs. Sophomore Renee
Parseghian (Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop) had a career-high 13 digs and Duvall
added four kills and 22 assists.
Shippensburg will await the results of pool play before finding out its two
opponents for Saturday.
