Lady Raider Track and Field Places Fourth at PSAC Outdoor Championships

Pa. - On the strength
of six top-five finishes Saturday, the Shippensburg University Lady Raider
track & field team concluded the three-day Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference Championships in fourth place.
The Lady Raiders finished with 87 points as a team and finished behind
Kutztown, Lock Haven, and champion Slippery Rock, which took the team
title with 207 points.
Shippensburg's top individual finishers on Saturday were freshman
Kristen McGoldrick (Boothwyn, Pa./Garnet Valley) and senior Anna
Mack (Olyphant, Pa./Lakeland). McGoldrick grabbed second place in the 800-meter
run with a time of 2:16.33. Senior teammate Lindsey Incorvati
(Manheim, Pa./Manheim Township) took seventh place.
Mack was the runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles after turning in a time
of 14.83. She finished just off the 14.80 pace set by Andi Rose of Slippery
Rock.
Junior Megan Schweighofer (Tyler Hill, Pa./Honesdale) earned a pair of
top 10 finishes, placing third in the hammer throw with a toss of 154-feet-6
inches, and eighth in the discus. Senior Sonia Spriggs (Avondale,
Pa./Avon Grove) finished fifth in the discus with a throw of 128-feet-four inches.
In the 200-meter dash, junior Julie Riccardo (Exton, Pa./Bishop
Shanahan) earned a fourth place finish with a time of 25.71. Sophomore Megan
Fogle (Wrightsville, Pa./Eastern) placed sixth with a time of 59.70 in the
400-meter dash.
Sophomore Bridget Danner (Etters, Pa./Red Land) ran an NCAA provisional
time of 11:24.84 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. That time was good
enough for fifth place.
In the 100-meter dash, senior Flo Yerokun (Perkiomenville, Pa./Spring-Ford) posted a time of 12.71, placing her in sixth.
Also placing for the Lady Raiders was senior Lindsey Govern (Mechanicsburg,
Pa./Cumberland Valley), who earned eighth in the 3,000-meter run. In
the 400-meter hurdles, freshmen Siobhan Richards (York Haven,
Pa./York Haven) and freshman Courtney Kostich (Thompsontown, Pa./East
Juniata) placed seventh and eighth respectively.
Several Lady Raiders will begin preparation for the NCAA Championships,
which begin on Thursday, May 25 in Emporia, Kan.
