Dell Named PSAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -
Following a stellar indoor season, Shippensburg freshman sprinter Mary Dell (Boiling Springs/Boiling Springs) was named PSAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year.

Dell placed in three events for the Lady Raiders in her first appearance at the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships that helped the team to a fifth-place finish. She earned second in the 400-meter dash, fifth in the 200-meter dash and eighth in the 55-meter dash while also anchoring Shippensburg's 4x400-meter relay team that finished fourth.

Dell also turned in the some of the top times in the PSAC during in the indoor season. Her 400-meter dash time of 57.61 seconds at the Kent State Open on February 17 was not only the best time in the PSAC during the indoor season, but also set a new school record.

In the 55-meter dash, Dell's mark as the fifth-fastest in the conference while she also posted the fifth-best time in the 200-meter dash as well.

The Shippensburg men's and women's track and field teams return to action on Friday at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell.
