Mar. 24, 2007
RICHMOND, Va. - The Shippensburg
University Women’s Track and Field Team participated in the Fred
Hardy Invitational on Saturday, held at the University of Richmond. The
majority of Shippensburg's participants wer ein the field events.
Senior Stacey Wilcher (Harleysville/Souderton) took home
seventh place in the pole vault, clearing 2.90 meters, about 0.15 meters
above her total at
last week’s Early Bird Invite. In the high jump, senior Monica
Speca (New Cumberland/Trinity) finished third, clearing 1.60 meters,
while junior
Casey Drummond (Maple Glen/Upper Dublin) finished right
behind Speca due to a lower height in the seeding preliminary, despite a
1.60 meter jump
herself.
Senior Megan Schweighofer (Tyler Hill/Honesdale) finished third
in the hammer throw with a toss of 48.22 meters.
The Lady Raiders will have a full team next Saturday, as they head to the
University of Maryland to compete in the Terrapin Invitational. Start time
will be 11 a.m.
