Seven Lady Raiders Take First Place Honors at Susquehanna Open

Susquehanna, Pa. - The Shippensburg
University women's track and field team traveled to the Susquehanna Open
on Friday, Feb. 17 and seven Lady Raiders came home with first-place finishes
in their respective events.
Freshman
Siobhan Richards (York Haven, Pa./York Haven) topped the 55 meter dash
with a time
of 7.39 seconds, while senior teammate Flo Yerokun (Perkiomenville,
Pa./Spring-Ford) finished second with a time of 7.43 seconds.
Freshman Kristen McGoldrick (Boothwyn, Pa./Garnet Valley) took home top honors
in the 800-meter run for a second straight match, with a time 2:25.84, just
ahead of teammate Lindsey Incorvati (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Township) who clocked
in at 2:28.12. Senior Anna Mack (Olyphant, Pa./Lakeland) captured the 55-meter
hurdles with a time of 8.68 seconds.
The Lady Raiders’ 4x200 and 4x400 teams each won in their relay events,
with respective times of 1:48.21 and 4:09.11. In the high jump, junior Monica
Speca (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity), coming off a team-best-tier in the PSAC
qualifiers, won the event with a jump of 5-feet, 2-inches. Freshman Christine
Kihm (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) and junior Stacey Wilcher (Harleysville,
Pa./Souderton) finished first and second in the pole vault, with respective
jumps of 11-feet, 6-inches and 10-feet, 6-inches.
Senior Sonia Spriggs (Avondale,
Pa./Avondale) finished second in the shot put, and junior Megan Schweighofer
(Tyler Hill, Pa./Honesdale) captured the women’s weight throw.
The Lady Raiders will next be in action at the PSAC Indoor Championships on Feb. 24-25 at East Stroudsburg University.
