Dell Leads Women's Track at New Balance Collegiate Invitational

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Shippensburg University indoor track and field teams concluded two days of competition Saturday at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational held at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City and competed against a bevy of Division I opponents.
The top male finisher for Shippensburg was freshman Josh Neyhart (Kutztown/Kutztown), who took 21st place with a time of 4:17.50 in the 1-mile run. The top female finisher was freshman Mary Dell (Boiling Springs/Boiling Springs), who took 50th place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.91 seconds.
Other top finishers for Shippensburg included: sophomore Jamal James (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin), who placed 24th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.31 seconds, senior Greg Weiss (Newfoundland, N.J./West Milford), who placed 36th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.82, freshman Mike Edwards (Bethlehem/Liberty), who placed 38th in the long jump with a leap of 20 feet 5 inches, and junior Dan Robinson (Hagerstown, Md./Boonsboro), who placed 39th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.42 seconds.
Both the men's and women's track and field squads return to action on Sun., Feb. 4 at the Dick DeSchriver Invitational which is held at East Stroudsburg.
