Pavilionyte Named to All-PSAC West Women's Tennis Team

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - For the second-straight year, junior Lina
Pavilionyte (Vilnius, Lithuania/Vilnius Sv. Kristofer) has been named to the All-Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division women's tennis team. She
is a Second-Team selection this year after earning First-Team honors last
season.
Pavilionyte finished second on the team in singles victories this season with nine, totaling a 9-4 record. At No. 1 singles, she had a record of 4-3 in dual matches and was 5-1 in tournaments. In the PSAC Individual Championship held at Indiana University (Pa.) on April 29-30, Pavilionyte was one of four players who advanced to the semifinals before the tournament was called because of rain.
In doubles competition, Pavilionyte teamed with both Karen Jensenius (York, Pa./Northeastern) and sophomore Nicole Perugini (Reading, Pa./Holy Name) to total a record of 6-4. Teamed with Jensenius, the duo went 3-1, including a perfect 3-0 at No. 1 doubles. The team of Pavilionyte and Perugini was 3-3 overall and 2-2 against teams from the PSAC Western Division.
Shippensburg finished the 2004-05 season with a record of 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC Western Division. The Lady Raiders had a mark of 3-2 in the fall and defeated Indiana (Pa.) in the final match of the season, 5-4.
