Lady Raiders Eliminated From Playoff Contention After 4-0 Loss

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The
Shippensburg women’s soccer team was eliminated from the playoff
race in the PSAC Eastern Division Saturday afternoon following a 4-0 road
loss to the Warriors
of East Stroudsburg University. It is the seventh consecutive loss for the
Lady Raiders.
Shippensburg (6-10, 4-7 PSAC East) was shut out for the third consecutive
game, and the Lady Raiders have not connected for a goal in its last 327:23.
In its seven-game losing streak, Shippensburg has been outscored 13-3.
Junior Beth Long (Berwyn/Conestoga) has remained stellar in goal for the
Lady Raiders. She made seven saves in 77 minutes of action before being relieved
by sophomore Jennifer Bledsoe (Erial, N.J./Timber Creek).
Freshmen Amanda Greenawalt (Landisville/Hempfield) and Alison
Dowdrick (Lebanon/Cedar Crest) led Shippensburg with two shots each.
Shippensburg will close out PSAC Eastern Division play when it hosts Mansfield
on Monday at David See Field. Game time is 4 p.m.
