Lady Raiders Finish With Scoreless Tie Against Millersville

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University women's soccer team battled Millersville University to a scoreless tie on Saturday night at David See Field. It was the Lady Raiders’ first scoreless tie since Sept. 24, 2005 against Bloomsburg.
Shippensburg (3-1-1, 2-1-1 PSAC) was able to contain the Marauders on defense, as sophomore goalkeeper Beth Long (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) totaled six saves for the contest and recorded her second career shutout.
This was Shippensburg’s first overtime game this season. Dating back to 2004, the Lady Raiders have played in seven double overtime games.
Shippensburg outshot Millersville (0-3-1, 0-0-1 PSAC) 24-13 for the entire contest. The Lady Raiders have allowed only one goal in their last three games.
The Lady Raiders return to action Wednesday, Sept. 13 when they travel to Bloomsburg University. Game time is at 5:30 p.m.
