May 23, 2007

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg women's lacrosse junior Kristin Crutchfield (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) was one of 64 athletes in Division II to be selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II All-Regional Teams on Wednesday. She was one of 32 players named to the South Region First and Second Teams.

The honor is the second career postseason honor for Crutchfield after she was selected to the All-PSAC Second Team earlier this year.

Crutchfield finished her second season with the Lady Raiders as the team's leader in goals, assists and points. She finished the year with 53 goals, 11 assists and 64 points while ranking second in the PSAC in goals per game. Crutchfield scored three or more goals in 11 of her 15 games, including the team's first eight contests of the season.

In 31 career games since transferring to Shippensburg from Queens (N.C.) and Carroll Community College, Crutchfield has started 29 games and totaled 91 goals and 17 assists for a total of 108 points. Last year, she finished second on the team with 38 goals and 44 points.

Crutchfield will begin her fourth and final collegiate season with 117 goals, 31 assists and 148 points after totaling 26 goals, 14 assists and 40 points in nine games at Queens (N.C.) in 2004.

As a result of her selection to an IWLCA All-Regional Team, Crutchfield is now eligible for inclusion on one of the IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-American teams, which will be announced on May 29.

Shippensburg finished the season with an 8-10 record, advancing to the semifinals of the PSAC Women's Lacrosse Championship for the third time in the last four seasons.
