Box Score

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Shippensburg seniors Cristin Marron (Exton, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) and Kim Hudicka (Media, Pa./Penncrest) each recorded three goals against the fourth-ranked Lock Haven Bald Eagles on Wednesday, but it was not enough as Lock Haven posted 10 goals in the first half and nine in the second to run away with a 19-8 victory.

With the win, Lock Haven improves to 11-1 overall and 7-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. The Lady Raiders, meanwhile, dropped their second consecutive game to a team ranked in the top 10 of Division II and fall to 5-6 (3-5).

Lock Haven buried the Lady Raiders early, scoring six of the game's first seven goals to build a 6-1 lead with 10:34 remaining in the first half.

Lock Haven's Jessica Blickenstaff scored her 42nd goal of the season to open the game but Ship junior Kristen Crutchfield (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) scored her 31st of the season off an assist from senior Lauren Wells (Royersford, Pa./Spring Ford) to even the game at 1-1.

From there, the Bald Eagles rattled off five unanswered, including two from Lindsay Rentel before senior Joanna Cole (New Freedom, Pa./York Catholic) scored unassisted to bring the score to 7-2. The Lady Raiders closed the first period with a flurry, receiving two goals from Marron over the final 4:33, including an unassisted goal with three seconds remaining. That goal brought the score to 9-4.

However, Lock Haven's Mandy Alderfer scored a pair of goals within 17 seconds of each other to start the second half and Jenna Richter added another to put the Lady Raider's down 13-5. Marron's third goal cut the lead to 13-6 at 17:33, but that was as close as Ship would get.

Lock Haven ended the game with three unaswered goals to boost the margin to 19-8.

Rentel and Aldefer each tallied four goals and Caitlin LaBonte tacked on three for the Bald Eagles.

Ship sophomore freshman Beth Long (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) caused a team-high three turnovers and also picked up four ground balls. In goal, senior Michelle Mangle (Philadelphia, Pa./St. Hubert Catholic) made five stops. At the other end, Melissa Seesz made 17 stops.

The Lady Raiders will look to get back on track when they travel to East Stroudsburg on Saturday, April 22. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
