Crutchfield Named PSAC Lacrosse Player of the Week

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg lacrosse junior Kristen Crutchfield (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Player of the Week on Tuesday after leading the Lady Raiders to a 2-1 record last week with wins over Bloomsburg and Mercyhurst.

Crutchfield had a stellar week as Shippensburg moved into third-place in the PSAC standings. She totaled 16 points on 15 goals and one assist, totaling a career-high six goals against Millersville and Mercyhurst. She also added three goals in a 15-13 win at Bloomsburg and again in a 14-8 win over Indiana (Pa.).

Through eight games this season, Crutchfield has scored a team-high 24 goals and is second on the team in scoring with 28 points. She has scored at least two goals in every game, but one.

Shippensburg (4-4, 3-3 PSAC) has won four of its last five games and three of their last four conference games after beginning the season with three-straight losses, all of which came to teams currently ranked in the top-10 in the latest STX/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Coaches' Poll. The Lady Raiders are also 3-0 on the road.

Shippensburg faces Wilmington (Delaware) in a non-conference game at home on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
