Shippensburg Softball to Host Fastpitch Hitting and Pitching Clinics

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University softball team, winners of three of the last five PSAC championships, will be hosting a series of fastpitch instructional clinics for girls ages 9-17 beginning Sunday, November 4.
The sessions will run for six weeks and be held in Heiges Field House on successive Sundays from November 4 through December 9. The cost of the six-week pitching session is $130 and the cost of the six-week hitting session is $80.
There will be two, one-hour sessions offered each Sunday with the first beginning at 11:30 a.m., and the second starting at 1:30 p.m. (Note: There will be a time change on November 25 and December 2).
This high impact clinic is designed to improve individual performance regardless of current skill level. The objective will be reached by intense one-on-one instruction.

The Lady Raiders have won over 74-percent of their games over the last four seasons, totaling a 162-55 overall record. The team has also won two NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic Region championships and three PSAC titles since 2003. Shippensburg has also been ranked among the nation's top-25 teams in each of the last five seasons.
In seven seasons at Shippensburg, Brookens and his staff have a record of 261-109 for a .705 winning percentage. The Lady Raiders had a No. 3 final national ranking in 2004, a No. 5 final ranking in 2003 and a No. 18 final ranking in 2006. Under his leadership, the team has had 29 All-PSAC Eastern Division selections, 20 NFCA Scholar-Athletes and 11 NFCA All-Americans.
