Ship Softball to Host Fastpitch Instructional Clinics

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The three-time defending Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) champion Shippensburg University softball team will be hosting a series of fastpitch instructional clinics beginning Sunday, October 30.

The sessions will run every Sunday for the following six-straight weeks and will begin at 11:00 a.m., and end at 3:00 p.m. This high impact clinic is designed to improve individual performance regardless of current skill level. The objective will be reached by intense one-on-one instruction.

The Lady Raiders have won over 83-percent of their games over the last three seasons, totaling a 127-25 overall record. Shippensburg ranked No. 8 in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Top 25 poll this past season. The team has won two NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region championships in the past three years.

In six seasons at Shippensburg, Brookens has a record of 189-65 (.744) while leading the Lady Raiders to a No. 3 final national ranking in 2004 and a No. 5 final ranking in 2003. Under his leadership, the team has had 24 All-PSAC Eastern Division selections, 19 NFCA Scholar-Athletes and nine NFCA All-Americans.
