Mansfield Doubleheader Rescheduled for Fourth Time, Now April 22

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The continued cold and inclement weather uncharacteristic of this time of year has forced the Shippensburg softball doubleheader with Mansfield to be rescheduled for the fourth time.

The latest postponement has moved the doubleheader at Shippensburg's Robb Field from Tuesday to Sunday, April 22. As a result, the games will now begin at 1:00 p.m.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, April 7, the doubleheader at Mansfield was postponed until April 15 because of cold and wintry weather. However, weather once again moved the contests to tomorrow afternoon and forced a change in venues.

Should the doubleheader finally get played on April 22, the Lady Raiders (21-16, 4-6 PSAC East) and Mountaineers will play four times in three days as the two teams are also scheduled to meet on Tuesday, April 24 at Mansfield.

Shippensburg, currently in fifth-place in the PSAC Eastern Division standings, begin its second round of divisional games on Wednesday when the Lady Raiders host third-place and 16th-ranked Bloomsburg at Robb Field beginning at 2:30 p.m.

With the top three teams from the Eastern Division advancing to the 2007 PSAC Softball Championship May 3-5, Shippensburg has a chance to move up further in the standings against the Huskies (7-3) as fourth-place Millersville (5-9) travels to sixth-place West Chester (3-11) on Wednesday.
