Tiesi Named PSAC East Softball Pitcher of the Week

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg University junior Kelley Tiesi (Baltimore, Md./Catholic School of Baltimore) was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Softball Pitcher of the Week on Monday. It is the second time this season that she has won the award.
In an 8-0 week for Shippensburg, Tiesi went 4-0 in five appearances on the mound to raise her overall record to 16-1 on the year. She did not allow a run in 21.1 innings pitched while recording 35 strikeouts last week, including 13-strikeout performances versus Millersville University and No. 13 Bloomsburg University.
Shippensburg (31-1, 14-0 PSAC East), currently ranked at No. 5 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II Poll, swept a doubleheader with Bloomsburg last week. In game one, Tiesi allowed no hits through six innings. She also earned the win in game two, retiring the final two batters in the seventh inning.
Tiesi has a 0.71 earned run average this year and leads the conference with 133 strikeouts.
The Lady Raiders return to action at Kutztown University on Wednesday in a doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m.
