Kelley Tiesi and Jaime Dacey Earn Weekly PSAC Honors
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.---Shippensburg University softball players senior Jaime
Dacey (Langhorne, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and junior Kelley
Tiesi (Baltimore, Md./Catholic School of Baltimore) were named Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively.
It is the first week that the award has been given this year.
Shippensburg is off to a 15-1 start, with its only loss this year coming
against No. 1 ranked Northern Kentucky. The Lady Raiders are currently ranked
at No. 3 in the latest National Fast Pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll.
Playing in all 16 games, Dacey has a .647 batting average (33-51) and 13
multiple-hit games. She has at least one hit in every game this season, totaling
33 hits, with seven of them being triples. She tied the school career record
for triples against New Haven, with 19 career triples. Denise Stephen set
the record in 1991. Dacey has a team-leading 21 runs scored and 28 RBI. She
also has a slugging percentage of .961.
Tiesi begins the year on the mound with a 7-1 record, posting a 0.42 ERA
in 50 innings pitched. Six of her seven wins were shutout performances. Tiesi
has totaled 68 strikeouts, including back-to-back 14 strikeout performances
versus Southern Indiana and Findlay.
The Lady Raiders return to action on Friday, March 25 against PSAC rival
Kutztown University at the Robb Sports Complex.
