Lady Raiders Swept by Minnesota State-Mankato in Second Day of Rebel Spring Games

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The
No. 15-ranked Shippensburg softball team was swept at the hands of Minnesota
State-Mankato on the second day of competition at the Rebel Spring Games
on Sunday.
In game one, the Mavericks recorded 10 hits and no errors, compared to six
hits and one error for the Lady Raiders (6-4). Sophomore Lori
Knopf (Crown Point, Ind./Andrean) allowed
five hits and four runs in just over two innings of play before being replaced
by sophomore Lauren Plasterer (Shippensburg/Shippensburg).
Freshman Nicole Henninger (Reading/Muhlenberg) went 2-for-3
with an RBI in the loss.
In the second game, the Lady Raiders would fall 3-1 for their third straight loss. Shippensburg softball continues play from Florida this Wednesday against Minnesota-Duluth, followed by a contest with Massachusetts-Lowell, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
