Hanslovan Leads Red Raiders to Third-Place Finish at NCAA East Region

SLIPPERY ROCK,
Pa. - Led by senior Allen Hanslovan’s (Morrisdale, Pa./West
Branch) seventh-place finish, the Shippensburg cross country team earned
a third-place finish at the NCAA Division II East Region Championships
Saturday at Slippery Rock.
Hanslovan, who finished seventh at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
Championships a week ago, turned in a time 33:11.50, which was just behind
the 31:35 pace set by winner Ryan Blood of Lock Haven.
Along with Hanslovan, sophomore Stephen Thompson (Northumberland,
Pa./Shikellamy) also earned All-East Region honors for placing 14th with a time of 33:33.60.
Sophomore Dillion Gracey (Mercersburg, Pa./James Buchanan) placed 21st
after turning in a time of 34:03.50. Freshman Josh Neyhart (Kutztown,
Pa./Kutztown) posted a time of 34:30.05 to place 30th.
Rounding out the
top-five for the Red Raiders was junior Nick Brousse (Carlisle,
Pa./Carlisle),
who placed 32nd with a time of 34:34.05.
Shippensburg finished the meet with 104 points. The team championship
went to Lock Haven, who placed five runners in the 15. Edinboro finished
second and placed four runners in the top-20.
