Red Raider XC Finishes Fourth at PSAC Championships

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championship remained just out of the grasp of the Red Raider cross country team once again, as they ran to a fourth-place finish on Saturday at Bloomsburg University.
Shippensburg's 123 total points placed the team behind Edinboro and Clarion which finished in second and third respectively. Capturing the team title four the fourth-straight year was Lock Haven, which landed six of its top seven runners in the top-20. Lock Haven's Ryan Blood, the 2004 champion, captured the individual title, turning in a time of 25:44.
The Red Raider's top finisher was senior Allen Hanslovan (Morrisdale, Pa./West Branch). He placed seventh with a time of 26:31, 47 seconds of the pace set by Blood. Senior Stephen Lobianco (Dover, Pa./Northeastern) just missed cracking the top-20, finishing 21st with a time of 27:25.
Freshman Josh Neyhart (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) finished just behind Lobianco in 23rd with a time of 27:30, and sophomore Stephen Thompson (Northumberland, Pa./Shikellamy) crossed the finish line three seconds later for 27th place. Senior Greg Weiss (Newfoundland, N.J./West Milford) clocked in at 28:11 and finished in 46th place.
The Red Raiders return to the course on Sat., Nov. 4 at Slippery Rock University for the NCAA East Regional Championships. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
