Red Raider XC Wins Second-Straight Straight Meet with Three Top-10 Finishers

SLIPPERY ROCK,
Pa. - Three runners placed in the top-10 as the Shippensburg
men's cross country took first place in a meet for the second consecutive
week at the SRU Inivtational, hosted by Slippery Rock University on Saturday
afternoon.
Leading the Red Raiders was sophomore Dillon Gracey (Mercersburg/James
Buchanan), finishing fifth with a time of 26:31. Senior Allen
Hanslovan (Morrisdale/West Branch) took seventh, clocking in at 26:45. Sophomore
Stephen Thompson (Northnumberland/Shikellamy) immediately followed six-tenths
of a second behind Hanslovan for eigth.
Rounding out the top five for Shippensburg was junior Nick Brousse
(Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) in 11th (26:59), and senior Stephen
LoBianco (Dover/Northeastern) in 14th (27:03). Among the other finishers
for the Red Raiders
were freshman Josh Neyhart (Kutztown, Pa./Kutztown) and senior Greg
Weiss (Newfoundland, N.J./West Milford) in 16th and 17th respectively, four
seconds apart.
The Red Raiders scored 44 place points to finish first overall. Clarion
took second with 83 points, and host Slippery Rock finished fifth with
a score of 123, despite have the top individual runner for the day in
Jeff Weiss.
Shippensburg will travel to Elizabethtown University for the Elizabethtown
Invitational on Saturday, October 21. Start time is 10:00 a.m.
