Ship Men Second at PSAC Championships; Women Sixth

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University track and field teams began competition in the 2005 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships at East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon with the men's team placing second and the women's team sixth.
Highlights on the men's side included the 4x800 meter relay team who finished first and the distance medley relay team that finished second.
Individually, freshman Jamal James (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) and senior Alton Richards (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) finished second and third, respectively, in the 200-meter dash and senior Marc Piccolo (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) came in second in the 400-meter run.
Other place winners for the men included freshman Mark Anderson (Nanty Glo, Pa./Central Cambia) who placed second in the 35-pound weight throw and senior Terry Lillicrap (West Chester, Pa./West Chester) who crossed the line third in the 5,000-meter run.
On the women's side, senior Tunisia Lacy (Chambersburg, Pa./Chambersburg) won her third-straight long jump championship while the Shippensburg 4x800 relay team came in third-place.
In preliminary competition, junior Flo Yerokum (Perkiomenville, Pa./Spring-Ford) came in first in the 55-meter dash while Lacy and junior Anna Mack (Olyphant, Pa./Lakeland) finished first and second, respectively, in the 55-meter hurdles.
Competition at the fourth annual PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Koehler Fieldhouse resumes on Sunday morning at 10 a.m.
