Shippensburg Wins Five Events at Susquehanna Open

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Shippensburg University track and field teams featured five winners at the Susquehanna Open on Friday.
 
Junior Flo Yerokum (Perkiomenville, Pa./Spring-Ford) placed first in the 55-meter dash, winning in 7.28 seconds, while sophomore Megan Schweighofer (Tyler Hill, Pa./Honesdale) won the weight-throw with a toss of 52 feet and five inches.
 
Junior Lindsey Govern (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) won the 1,500-meter run, posting a first-place time of 5:00.03. Freshman Bridget Danner (Etters, Pa./Red Land) recorded a third-place time of 5:06.35.
 
Other women placing prominently included a third-place finish for junior Stephanie Bivona (Coatsville, Pa./Coatsville) in the 5,000-meter run and a fourth-place finish for junior Lindsey Incorvati (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Township) in the 800-meter run. The Lady Raiders finished second in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:12.42.
 
The men featured one first-place finisher, as senior Adam Escamilla (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) topped all competitors in the shot put with a 53-foot toss.
 
Three Red Raiders posted strong second-place finishes in their respective events. Junior Jake D'Arcangelo (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) tied for second in the high jump clearing 6-feet, 4-inches.
 
Sophomore Nate Reider (York, Pa./Dallastown) throw of 49-feet, 7-inches placed him second in the weight throw while freshman Troy Litten (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) finished third in the pole vault, clearing 14-feet.
 
The men also placed second in the 4x200 meter relay with a time of 1:32.60.

Shippensburg will return to action next Saturday, February 26 at the two-day Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by East Stroudsburg University. The event begins at 2:00 p.m.
