Nate Reider Featured on Strength and Conditioning Journal Cover

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Former Shippensburg University men's track and field standout Nate Reider is currently featured on the cover of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Strength and Conditioning journal Volume 29, Number 5.

The photo of the 2007 PSAC Track Men's Field Athlete of the Year is from the 2007 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Strength and Conditioning is the NSCA’s professional journal. Each issue contains practical information that can be used right away. Member written and reviewed articles profile resistance training, sports medicine and science, and issues facing the strength and conditioning professional. The journal provides members with the most accurate information available.

Reider became the fifth national champion in team history and earned his second consecutive All-American honor after winning the javelin with a career-best mark of 217' 2".

Reider finished his career with six individual championships to his credit, includuing three PSAC championships as a senior, capturing first-place in the hammer throw while also winning the javelin for the second consecutive year at the conference outdoor championships. He also won the weight throw for the second-straight year at the indoor championships.

A four-time national qualifier, Reider qualified for the NCAA outdoor championships in the javelin three times in 2005, 2006 and 2007 while also qualifying in the weight throw for the 2007 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.
