LEWISBURG, Pa. - A quartet of Red Raiders highlighted the final day of competition at Bucknell for the Shippensburg University men's track and field team as they totaled two first-place and two runner-up finishes between them Saturday at the Bison Open and Multi.

After qualifying first and second in last night's 200-meter dash preliminaries, seniors Jamal James (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) and James Wilson (Ephrata/Ephrata) duplicated that finish in the finals on Saturday as James took first place in 22.20 seconds with Wilson right behind in 22.44 seconds.

James shaved 0.15 seconds of his PSAC qualifying time of 22.35 seconds which was the second-fastest time in the PSAC this season behind Cyrus Wesley of Cheyney at 22.09 seconds.

Meanwhile, Wilson's time was 0.20 seconds faster than his qualifying time of 22.64 seconds and ranks him fourth in the PSAC. It also qualifies him for the PSAC championships next month.

In the 3,000-meter run, junior Dillon Gracey (Mercersburg/James Buchanan) took home first place in a time of 8:47.84 which is the fourth-best time in the conference this season, qualifying him for the conference championships.

Junior Stephen Thompson (Northumberland/Shikellamy), who was Shippensburg's top finisher at the PSAC cross country championships in October, placed 10th.

Sophomore Josh Neyhart (Kutztown/Kutztown) finished second in the mile run with a time of 4:22.93 to lead three Red Raiders who placed in the top-10 as freshman Matt Gelety (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) and freshman Ethan Rissell (Falls Church, Va./J.E.B. Stuart) came in seventh and ninth, respectively.

Neyhart also placed fourth in the 1,000-meter run while Rissell was 10th.

All totaled, Shippensburg boasted two first place finishes, two runner-up finishes, five top-five showings and 13 top-10 showings.

Other notable performances included two third-place finishes by Stephen Gualberti (Springfield/Springfield) and Allan Lehman (Greencastle/Greencastle) in the high jump and long jump, respectively. Lehman's mark is the ninth-best in the PSAC this year and qualifies him for the conference championships. He also placed sixth in the triple jump.

Junior Joe Wagner (Biglerville/Biglerville) was fourth in the 400-meter dash, red-shirt freshman Jesse Brown (Philadelphia/Girard College) was fourth in the triple jump, freshman Ryan Boyer (Shamokin/Southern Columbia) was fifth in the 800-meter run and junior Shaun Minnich (Churchville/Council Rock South) was fifth in the weight throw.

Wagner and Boyer both qualified for the PSAC championships on Saturday with Boyer becoming the first Red Raider to do so in the 800.

The final top-10 performance for Shippensburg was Campolongo who finished seventh in the pole vault.

After back-to-back weekends in competition at Bucknell, Shippensburg will travel to East Stroudsburg, site of the PSAC championships, next Saturday to compete in the DeSchriver Invitational. Competition gets underway at 10:00 a.m.
