LEWISBURG, Pa. - Freshman Joe
Wagner (Biglerville/Biglerville) set a new school record in the 500-meter
dash to highlight a second-place finish for the Shippensburg men's track
and field team at the Bucknell Heptagonal on Saturday. The Red Raiders
totaled 132 points, 29 behind host Bucknell in their first action since
competing in the DuCharme Invitational on December 8.
Wagner's time of 1:05.48 earned him first-place, one minute ahead of Brian
Mooney from Bucknell as the Bison took second, third and fourth-place.
Junior Eric Baker (Montoursville/Montoursville) placed fifth in 1:08.47.
Wagner broke the school record, held by Kenrick Marsh, by a mere 0.15 seconds

included junior Jamal James (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) who won the 55-meter
dash in 6.56 seconds and placed second in the 200-meter dash in 22.49 seconds,
0.06 behind winner Kerry Boyle of Bucknell.

jump with a career-best leap of 45-feet, 1-inch, the fourth-longest jump

dash, 0.07 seconds behind James. Wilson was also seventh in the 200 meter
