Dr. Roberta Page was appointed director of athletics in June 2003. She joined Shippensburg athletics in January 2000 as associate director of athletics and then served as interim director of athletics from December 2001 until June 2003.
Since coming on board, she has
helped maintain Shippensburg’s
winning traditions. Shippensburg
earned the 2005 Dixon Trophy,
which is awarded by the Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference to the member institution that has the
best overall athletic program. It was the fifth time in the 10-year
history
of the award Shippensburg captured the honor.
A native of Greensburg, Page played basketball and softball at Slippery Rock University where she graduated in 1988. She majored in physical education with a minor in sports management.
Following graduation she taught health and physical education and served as as sis tant track coach (1989-95) and assistant varsity and head junior varsity basketball coach (1989-94) at Chambersburg High School. She also was head volleyball coach at Wilson College (1992-94).
In August 1995, Page moved to Gettysburg High School where she was director of athletics and assistant principal. In fall 1998 she went to South Middleton School District where she was the director of ath let ics and assistant principal.
Page earned two master’s degrees from Western Maryland College in athletic administration and educational administration with a concentration on higher education. She earned a doctoral degree in educational leadership from Duquesne University.
