Perlozzo, Wright Named to North Atlantic Region Championship All-Tournament Team

KUTZTOWN, Pa. - For their performances in the NCAA Division II North Atlantic Region Championship, Shippensburg baseball senior second baseman Eric Perlozzo (Cumberland, Md./Bishop Walsh) and sophomore pitcher Matt Wright (McClure/Mid-West) were named to the championship all-tournament team.
Perlozzo and Wright filled two of the all-tournament team's 12 spots. The tournament's Most Valuable Player was awarded to Kutztown's Ryan Loper.
In three appearances, Perlozzo batted .600 (6-for-10), drove in one run and scored twice. He also drew four walks to post an on-base percentage of .714 while stealing three bases in three attempts as well.
Perlozzo's regional tournament performance capped a postseason in which he hit .469 (15-for-32), drew six walks, stole five bases, scored eight times and drove in three runs in eight games. He was also an All-PSAC Western Division Second Team selection this season.
Wright landed a spot on the all-tournament team after tossing his first career nine-inning complete game in Shippensburg's 6-1 victory over West Virginia State. After not traveling with the team the first day because of illness, the PSAC Western Division Pitcher of the Year limited the Yellow Jackets to just four hits while striking out 11 and walking only one.
Shippensburg (28-24), the 2007 PSAC champions, posted a 1-2 record at the regional tournament, defeating WVIAC champion West Virginia State while falling to eventual champion Kutztown and runner-up West Chester.
