After losing the opening game of the tournament to Kutztown, the Red Raiders have won three-straight games to reach the championship game. California lost to Slippery Rock in the second round, but bounced back with a 7-2 win over The Rock in the semifinals.
In Shippensburg's three tournament wins, it has allowed just four runs, and its starting pitchers have pitched 25.2 of the 27 innings.
It was D'Agostino's (4-3) first career nine-inning complete game. He struck out six and scattered five hits. Slippery Rock starter Sean Holliday (4-2) was bounced after just 2.2 innings.
In the third, Ship took full advantage of a Slippery Rock error. Senior Eric Perlozzo (Cumberland, Md./Bishop Walsh) drew a bases loaded walk, and junior Justin Garber (Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown) picked up an RBI on a sacrifice fly. Two batters later, sophomore Kasey Kuhns (Three Springs/Southern Huntingdon) cleared the bases with a double down the left field line, giving Ship a 5-0 lead.
Another Slippery Rock error in the fourth helped Ship to two more runs. Sophomore Tyler Redick (Fairfield/Walkersville (Md.)) and Perlozzo each drove in runs with RBI singles.
Perlozzo and sophomore Eric Dezell (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) both finished with two hits.
