SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - For the second time in two weeks, Shippensburg baseball junior Justin Garber (Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown) was named PSAC Western Division Player of the Week. It is the second honor of Garber's career and marks a third-straight week that a Red Raider was honored.

Sophomore Matt Wright (McClure/Mid-West) was PSAC Western Division Pitcher of the Week on April 9.

Garber helped Shippensburg to four PSAC West wins in six games last week. In seven total games, he went 12-for-24 (.500), scored seven times, drove in six runs and was 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts. He recorded at least one hit in each of the seven games and accounted for the team's lone run with an RBI or run scored in three games.

Garber's top effort was a 4-for-4 performance with three runs, two RBI, one walk and two stolen bases against Indiana (Pa.) on Tuesday.

The award caps an incredible month of April in which Garber has recorded a hit in all 11 games and is 18-for-40 at the plate for a .450 batting average. He has also totaled 12 RBIs, scored nine runs is a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen base attempts.

During the month, the Red Raiders are 8-3 and have vaulted into a tie atop the PSAC West Standings with California (Pa.).

On the season, Garber is hitting a team-best .386, has a .456 on-base percentage and is 22-for-22 in stolen base attempts.

Shippensburg is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday 18 at East Stroudsburg in a single, nine-inning contest beginning at 4:00 p.m.
