Wednesday's Home Baseball Game With Kutztown Moved Up One Hour

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Due to impending rain late Wednesday afternoon, the Shippensburg baseball team's single, nine-inning game scheduled at Fairchild Field against Kutztown has been moved up one hour and will begin at 2:00 p.m.

The Red Raiders (14-12, 4-2 PSAC West), winners of 11 of their last 13, are currently in a four-way tie for first-place in the PSAC Western Division with California (Pa.), Indiana (Pa.) and Slippery Rock. Shippensburg at IUP this afternoon, finishing up a four-game schedule that was originally scheduled for Friday, April 6, but has been postponed three times.

In other conference games on Tuesday, California (Pa.) is at Clarion and Lock Haven is at Slippery Rock, all finishing the final two games of a four-game series. Also, Kutztown is playing a PSAC Eastern Division doubleheader at East Stroudsburg before heading to Shippensburg tomorrow.

Wednesday's nine-inning contest between the Red Raiders and Kutztown will be a key North Atlantic Region showdown as both teams are currently ranked in the top-10 in the region with the Golden Bears ranked at No. 1 and Shippensburg at No. 7, according to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Kutztown is also ranked third in the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll and sixth in the NCBWA top-25. Meanwhile, the Red Raiders are received four votes in this week's ABCA national poll.
