Friday's Doubleheader at IUP Postponed; Red Raiders to Travel to Millersville

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Because of unplayable field conditions, the Shippensburg baseball PSAC Western Division doubleheader scheduled for Friday at Indiana (Pa.) has been postponed. Instead, the Red Raiders will travel to Millersville for one nine-inning game starting at 3 p.m.

The weather has caused nine Shippensburg games to be cancelled or postponed already this season. In an effort to fill out the remainder of the schedule, and because both team's regularly scheduled games for Friday were postponed, Shippensburg and Millersville agreed to meet for a third time this season.

Shippensburg won both meetings on Mar. 27 by scores of 4-0 and 7-1.

The Shippensburg versus Indiana doubleheader is tentatively rescheduled for Monday, April 9, pending the condition of the field.

As a result of Friday's cancellation and the possibility of moving the game to Monday, the Red Raiders' non-conference doubleheader against Columbia Union, which was rescheduled from March 19, has been cancelled.

However, if the games with IUP cannot be played on Monday, the doubleheader between Shippensburg and Columbia Union at Fairchild Field will be played as scheduled beginning at 1:00 p.m. Decisions regarding Monday's games will be made this weekend.

The Red Raiders, who have won 10 of their last 11 games, return to action this Saturday with a doubleheader against Indiana (Pa.) at Fairchild Field. Game one is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
